Hand-tufted rugs are among the most creative and artistic in the world of rug production.
They are considered hand made or hand-crafted. Our selected team of skilled rug makers fuse modern and traditional processes to create your hand tufted rug.

To produce it, a piece of canvas is spread over a frame. The canvas is detailed with a drawing reproducing the design and color of the finished rug.  A tool, called a tufting gun, is used to punch wool through the canvas.  Different color wool is used to create the desired pattern.  Accents in silk or bamboo add a lush, rich sheen when usedtogether with wool and add a fascinating detail to your carpet.

This particular type of rug is made using a modified hand held drill gun that inserts the pile into a cloth foundation which creates a loop pile. If the loop pile is sheared, it then becomes a cut pile. The loop pile rug, if not sheared, is called a “Hand-Hooked” rug.

Some designs have both loop and cut pile combined to create a dimensional effect to the pattern. A latex coating is then applied to the back of the rug to hold the “tufts” in place. A canvas type fabric is then applied over the latex coating to finish the back of the rug.

A Hand tufted rugs will look very uniform and perfectly even. The more detail in the design when looking from the back, the better the quality of the rug.
At the end, the fringes are sewn on and is attached as a finishing touch.
